ABOUT US

The founders of SENSE-ational Spaces®, Alexi and Marlee, are licensed and registered occupational therapists who have merged their desires for helping people in the community, sensory processing, and environmental modifications into a business in their home state of Minnesota. The duo met in graduate school at St. Catherine University while pursuing their Masters in Occupational Therapy. Alexi and Marlee both have experiences that transcend ages and environments including schools, mental health facilities, autism clinics, outpatient services, inpatient hospitals, and acute care settings.

At SENSE-ational Spaces, LLC we utilize our occupational therapy lens to support individuals with disabilities and their families through promoting education on sensory processing and environmental modification as well as design and implementation of uniquely tailored sensory spaces. We have on-demand courses, a member subscription page of quality education & resources for educators, therapists, and parents, as well as a robust ordering equipment page to obtain the recommended sensory supplies specific for your child or organization.

OUR MISSION

Using our occupational therapy lens, we support caregivers in the fostering of their loved ones daily participation through education and creation of safe and sensory-friendly spaces.

MEANING BEHIND THE LOGO

Orchid meaning: unique, beauty, strength & joy. We know that every family is unique, as is every individual within that family. This uniqueness is what makes us beautiful and fosters strength within the individual and brings joy to everyone around them.

With proper environment and care, orchids are able to thrive and flourish for years; similarly, when provided sensory rich environments specifically tailored to their needs, children will thrive and flourish too.

The small orchid buds symbolize growth. The environments we are developing for the families we serve will help to promote growth and development within the home setting through sensory rich experiences specifically tailored to the needs of each individual we design a space for.
